(Credit: Lance Whitney / Apple) Set Up New Wallpaper When finished, tap Add to finalize your new wallpaper. You’re able to add as many widgets as will fit in the horizontal pane. Select Add Widgets to insert other types of widgets. Tap the time to modify the font and color of the text. Tap the date to replace it with a different piece of content, such as fitness activity, reminders, or stock quotes. Select any of these elements to edit them or swap them out for something more useful. To pick an image for customization right off the bat, tap one of the icons at the top for Emoji, Weather, Astronomy, or Color. With the Color wallpaper, you’re able to change the background color by tapping the circle in the lower left and adjust the tone by swiping to the left or right. ![]() Other featured wallpapers include Unity and Pride, both of which include customizable color and widget options. You can delete the existing emoji from the row and then add the ones you wish to use. Tap the smiley face icon in the lower left to change the current emoji. Tap the Emoji wallpaper to create a tiled background with your favorite emoji. The Kaleidoscope wallpaper features kaleidoscopic images in different colors. Select the Weather wallpaper to get changing backgrounds that match the current weather in your area. The Weather & Astronomy wallpaper offers several different views of the Earth, Moon, and solar system. Swipe down the screen to view the different categories. With the categories stretching down the screen, you’re able to more quickly choose a wallpaper with predefined images and widgets. With the icons at the top, you can customize the specific wallpaper image, widgets, and other elements that you want to populate the Lock Screen. Alternatively, swipe down from the top of the screen until the Lock Screen appears, long-press on any empty area of the screen, and tap the plus ( +) icon. To do this, go to Settings > Wallpaper and tap Add New Wallpaper. Your first mission is to create a new wallpaper background. The options and steps for tweaking your Lock Screen are the same for iOS and iPadOS, so you can try it on either device.
